What is normal? This has been a huge topic of discussion in my life lately. What do you do when life returns to normal? What does this mean? I have heard so many people discuss what they can eat or do when they return to normal. Really? Do you want to return to that normal? I understand an indulgence now and then, but if I eat the way I normally did, I will look the way I did when I was “Normal.”
My new normal requires me to eat healthy. It requires me to exercise daily. It requires me to be active and social. It means I have very little time for TV. It means I have to plan my meals ahead so that I am always ready to go. My new normal works for me.
Here is an average day:
4:30am – wake up, put on my gym clothes, and drive to the gym
5:00 – 6:00 work out (Megan is AWESOME!)
6:00 – 7:00 drive home, shower, coffee, walk the dog, and get ready for work
7:00 drive to work
8:00 arrive at work (long commute.)
8:00-4:00 work
4:00-5:00 drive home
5:00 – 5:15 walk the dog
5:15-6:00 dinner (cook and eat)
6:00 – 9:00 work (I have a job at a yoga studio too)
9:00 – 9:30 prep lunch for the next day and walk the dog
9:30 – 10:00 settle in for bed
Hopefully I am asleep by 10 as I am TRYING to get 6 hours of sleep. My goal is 5 ½ .
As you can see planning is my greatest weapon. My new normal works for me because I work for it.
