I am now 16 weeks into the program, 47 pounds down and roughly 30 inches trimmed. While the program is pretty straight forward to follow, there are so many other factors that go into an effective lifestyle change. I do not like to refer to the process we are going through as a diet because within the confines of the word diet is “die.” The tools and habits that are demonstrated throughout this program are the building blocks to a successful eating and life program. I have personally struggled with my weight since I was 12 years old. I love food and have grown into an adult foodie; which that in and of itself isn’t a bad thing, but really comes down to moderation. The fact that we are encouraged to use myfitnesspal is a godsend for me. This keeps me accountable for what I do and do not put into my mouth each day.
While I am still in phase 1, I am thinking ahead to the future phases and hoping to continue the skills I am practicing now. What am I craving right now? cheese! As I think about having a piece of cheese, that is exactly how I am thinking about it; having one to two ounces of cheese and recording it in my food diary because I know where I struggle and it all comes down to losing track of what I am consuming.
